"The trout" (i pestrofa)

This project is part of the group exhibition «Eat it», curated by Marina Kanakakis, in the Art Prisma gallery in Piraeus, Greece, from 8th June to 9th July  2011.

The main theme of the exhibition is the relation between art and food, vision and taste. The concepts of feeding and consuming are explored in a symbolic and literal level.

The work consists of three parts:

“The trout” - a life-size sculpture (55x30x20cm) made of paper, metal leaves, plaster and glue, portraying two hands holding a trout.

“The recipe”- a text in the form of a recipe, links the artwork to the dish.

“The dish”- smoked trout mousse in the shape of hands, with black ink sauce and salmon eggs. The mousse, totally eaten at the opening, was served by me, offering the pleasure of tasting the forbidden…
